Beginner Friendly: Clam Up Bag by Annie

Clam Up Bag

This is a great Beginner class to be introduced to By Annie patterns.  This bag comes in five sizes.  We will be concentrating on the Large bag in class, but you will be able to do all the others when you finish one.  These bags and fun, quick, make great gifts, and addictive!

You may choose any fabric for this bag, including cork and vinyl.  You will want to use fabric for the lining.  

Pattern and all supplies are available at the Sewcial Creatives shop.  

1. Sewing machine in good working order with straight stitch foot and zipper foot.

 2. Lightweight tearaway stabilizer or Supreme slider for the bed of your machine 

3. Main Fabric - Fat Quarter 

4. Liningn Fabric - Fat Quarter

5. Coordinating Fabric - (grab tabs, strap, gussets, bindings) - 1/8 yard  

6.  Soft and Stable Stabilizer - 0ne 18"x58" package will make all five bags.

7. Handbag zippers - 20" for medium and large bags; 24" for extra large bag

8. Optional swivel hook

9.  Template plastic or freezer paper

10.  Thread to match fabric.  Cotton or polyester. sewing clips, chalk marker or removable pen, ⅛” double sided tape, Stiletto, other favorite sewing supplies.

Bring your own machine.  Walking foot is recommended for this project

Class is taught by Melinda Brown.

You may bring a lunch and or snacks.  We have sodas, bottled water and chips available for .50 cents.  Small refrigerator available for use.

By attending classes at our store, you consent to being photographed and/or recorded during class activities.  We may use these images for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and marketing materials.  If you prefer not to be included, please notify us in writing in advance of the class.

Cancellation Policy

Thank you for signing up for a class at Sewcial Creatives.  To be respectful of our teachers the following cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to. 

CANCELLATIONS OR RESCHEDULING (IF AVAILABLE) MUST BE IN PERSON OR BY PHONE DURING BUSINESS HOURS.

Class fees are fully refundable only if cancellation or rescheduling (if available) is made at least 7 days prior to the class. If you cancel or reschedule at least 4 days but less than 7 days prior to the class date, class fees are 50% refundable for a store credit.  If you cancel or reschedule 3 days or less prior to the date of the class, your class fees will not be refunded.
