Hen Pincushion

Can you ever really have enough pincushions?  The answer is, not when they are this cute!

Join Krista as she instructs you on this cute, quick, and fun project.  The pincushions are perfect for gifts, trading with your sewing friends, or just brightening up your sewing space!

Supplies: Feel Free to bring enough supplies to make a couple of chickens in different fabrics or sizes! 

• Sewing machine in good working condition with foot pedal and power cord.  You must be able to use your machine independently.
• Good pair of sharp scissors
• Thread to match your fabric
• Straight pins
• Assorted Fabric scraps for body. You will need at least two 10” squares for the body for the larger bird if you want to make it out of a single fabric or scraps can be pieced together for the body for a scrappier look. We will be using assorted size squares for the prairie points on the tail.
• 8” piece of contrasting scrap for the comb and tail (squares 3,4,& 5”) or you can use yarn, rick rack, lace, etc (be as creative as you like!)
• A 2 1/2” square of yellow fabric for the beak
• Buttons and/or beads for eyes.
• Quilt batting for quilting the bird.
• Walnut shells (ground), rice, or sand and a funnel for filling your bird.
• purple thang or other tool to help turn out your points.

The instructor will bring some trims, yarns, beads, buttons and fiberfill stuffing to share in class!

By attending classes at our store, you consent to being photographed and/or recorded during class activities.  We may use these images for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and marketing materials.  If you prefer not to be included, please notify us in writing in advance of the class.

Cancellation Policy

Thank you for signing up for a class at Sewcial Creatives.  To be respectful of our teachers the following cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to. 

CANCELLATIONS OR RESCHEDULING (IF AVAILABLE) MUST BE IN PERSON OR BY PHONE DURING BUSINESS HOURS.

Class fees are fully refundable only if cancellation or rescheduling (if available) is made at least 7 days prior to the class. If you cancel or reschedule at least 4 days but less than 7 days prior to the class date, class fees are 50% refundable for a store credit.  If you cancel or reschedule 3 days or less prior to the date of the class, your class fees will not be refunded.
