Sewing 101 - Beginner Sewing

Master the Fundamentals of Sewing
Don't have a machine? No problem! We have classroom machines available for use. If you want to learn specifics about your own machine, please check out our Unbox Your Sewing Machine class or a Sewcial Session!
Discover the joy of sewing in this beginner-friendly workshop! Whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or returning after a break, this class will build your confidence with both machine and hand sewing.
You'll learn:
Machine essentials - from threading and bobbin winding to adjusting tension
Machine troubleshooting - cleaning and changing a needle
Basic stitches - perfect your straight stitch and explore the versatility of zig-zag
Materials know-how - select the right needle and thread for your projects
Hands-on practice - guide fabric through your machine and experiment with different stitches
We'll wrap up with essential hand-sewing techniques, including the satisfying skill of attaching buttons properly.
A kit for a small project and the machine rental is included in the class fee.

Supplies available at the shop. Receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased during class.

By attending classes at our store, you consent to being photographed and/or recorded during class activities. Cancellation Policy
Thank you for signing up for a class at Sewcial Creatives. To be respectful of our teachers the following cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to.
CANCELLATIONS OR RESCHEDULING (IF AVAILABLE) MUST BE IN PERSON OR BY PHONE DURING BUSINESS HOURS.
Class fees are fully refundable only if cancellation or rescheduling (if available) is made at least 7 days prior to the class. If you cancel or reschedule at least 4 days but less than 7 days prior to the class date, class fees are 50% refundable for a store credit. If you cancel or reschedule 3 days or less prior to the date of the class, your class fees will not be refunded.
